  • Every year in the US, an average of more than 100,000  people are shot, according to (The Brady Campaign to prevent gun Violence)

  • One person is killed by a Firearm every seventeen minutes, 87 people are killed everyday, and 609 are killed every week (CDC)

  • Between 2000 and 2010, A total of 335,609 people died from guns. More than the population of St, Louis, Missouri (318,069), Pittsburgh, PA, (307,484), Cincinnati, OH, (269,223), Newark, NJ, (277,540), and Orlando, FL, (243,195) (CDF, US Census Bureau)Study shows the US has had an average of one "Mass" shooting per month since 2009. To put that into perspective , in 2009 the census bureau stated that there were 305,529,237 people in the US, there are an estimated 300,000,000 to 310,000,000 guns owned by civilians.

The facts don't lie. For the average citizen, the front line is not on some distant beach or jungle in a foreign country. The front-line for an average citizen is right outside the front door of their homes. The war-zone isn't on our streets in the form of tanks or armed soldiers. The war-zone is the distance between Point-A our homes, and Point-B our daily destinations. Whether the war-zone comes in the form of our daily commute to work, a quick trip to the grocery store, gas station, a stroll around the neighborhood or sadly in our public schools. Make no mistake about it, danger, and unpredictability lurk around every corner.
